Behaviour Support WorkerFull-time Permanent Position Available – September 2024Working Hours: Monday – Friday, Term time only, 08:30 – 15:30We are seeking passionate Behaviour Support Workers to join a secondary school based in Stockport from September 2024.If you are passionate about working with hard-to-reach young people and have experience supporting behaviour and additional learning needs within a school or similar setting, we encourage you to apply!Key Role Highlights: Recent Graduates: Ideal for those in SEN, Childhood Studies, Psychology, and related fields.Support Experience: Suitable for individuals with a background in support work across various care and support settings.Transferable Skills: We welcome support staff from all backgrounds; full training and support will be provided.Experience working with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs or Special Educational Needs is highly advantageous. Dedicated to fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment, the school is committed to providing tailored support for students with specialist learning needs, ensuring that every child can achieve their full potential.Roles and Responsibilities: 1:1 and Small Group Behaviour Support: Deliver targeted support to individual students and small groups to address behavioural challenges and encourage positive interactions across different key stages.Employ de-escalation strategies to manage and diffuse challenging behaviour, ensuring a calm and supportive environment for all students.Implement tailored behaviour management plans to promote positive behaviour and address any disruptions effectively.Work with teachers to develop and implement behaviour focused individualised education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student’s unique needs and support their behavioural development.Provide mentoring and emotional guidance to help students build resilience, enhance self esteem, and navigate social interactions effectively.Assist teachers in managing classroom dynamics and supporting students with behavioural needs during lessons and activities. Essential Requirements: Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and children.Previous experience in a similar role supporting with behaviour and or additional learning needs is essential for consideration.Empathy, patience, strong communication skills, and resilience to work with diverse needs.
