Job description BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT WORKERAre you looking for work in the Education sector?Are you looking for work in Burnley?Do you have a passion for working with children with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health needs)?Are you strong with positive behaviour management?We are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and mental health problems. You will be working in a school and supporting children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons, such as:Children in Looked After CareAnxietyExclusionSpeech and language difficultiesPhysical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficultiesYou must have:Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviourExperience of de-escalation training would be advantageousThe school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar rolesConfidence to make decisionsExcellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the studentsEmpathy and understandingWillingness to enhance skills with professional training and developmentThis is a great opportunity, to help enrich and develop vulnerable young people’s lives.
