£ 38,000 - £45,000 DOE

The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Bid Writer for a leading privately owned collection of diverse and dynamic forward-thinking companies based in Scotland.

Our client is not just seeking a Bid Writer, but a unique individual with a passion for creative writing, with a good knowledge of FM and M&E public contracts. Using your skills for writing you will work on every element of the bid writing process, producing bespoke, high-quality PQQ and tender submission that not only meet requirements of the bid but sell the business in a way that aligns to our companies’ aspirations to be sector leading.

Reporting to the Bid Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that company PQQs, ITTs and presentations are written, prepared, presented and delivered on time to the highest possible standard.

  • Holidays: 30 days. Additional days per year of service, maximum of 5. Buy back scheme of additional 5 days

Our client is a forward-thinking multi-disciplinary management and technical consultancy business that offers services and dynamic solutions to Registered Social Landlords (RSLs). Local Authorities (LAs), Emergency Services, and other public sector agencies.

At M-Four, they are passionate about changing the narrative for social housing tenants in Scotland; and with a clear focus on fire safety with these properties they are working with clients and partners, to make every social housing property in Scotland as safe as possible for tenants.

Role Responsibilities

  • Reviewing tender documents and extracting key information from them
  • Take the lead in preparing high-quality bids and proposals in response to tender invitations, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and adhering to submission deadlines
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information and translate technical details into clear, persuasive written content. Tailor messaging to effectively communicate the company's value proposition and differentiate from competitors
  • Conduct thorough research on prospective clients, projects, and industry trends to inform bid strategies and enhance proposal content. Analyse tender documentation to identify key requirements and develop targeted responses
  • Track bid outcomes and analyse win/loss data to identify areas for improvement and inform future bidding strategies
  • Researching potential clients and developing an understanding of their requirements
  • Organising and driving bid kick-off meetings in conjunction with the sales lead and other bid contributors
  • Complete PQQs and ITTs by sourcing and collating the requested information
  • Submit PQQ / ITTs in the required format before set deadlines
  • Taking raw text and turning it into a persuasive and informative piece of writing
  • Developing and contributing to bid win themes and proposals
  • Creative design and layout of tender and presentation responses
  • Managing/coordinating the entire bid process from start to finish
  • Highlighting and escalating any concerns to the management team
  • Monitoring and tracking of all bid submission and developing a reporting system to track performance.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience of working within a Bid Writing position with a track record of successfully securing contracts through competitive tendering processes.
  • Experience of the bid/tender process and bid writing is highly desirable
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent within a relevant subject
  • Outstanding organisation and project management skills
  • A high-level of IT literacy, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A keen eye for detail
  • The ability to focus and remain calm when working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Is a member, or is working towards membership, of a professional body such as APMP or RICS.

Desirable

Experience of working within the Social Housing sector or public sector companies would be desirable i.e local councils
