The Role:

As a Qualified Patent Attorney specializing in Biotechnology, you will play a pivotal role in advising my client's prestigious clientele on patent matters, including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications. You will also be involved in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO) and other jurisdictions. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, alongside a strategic approach to IP management and protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the field of Biotechnology
  • Providing strategic advice on IP portfolio management
  • Representing clients in opposition and appeal proceedings
  • Conducting freedom-to-operate analyses and due diligence investigations
  • Liaising with clients to understand their R&D efforts and advising on patentability
  • Collaborating with colleagues across different practices to provide comprehensive IP solutions

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A qualified Patent Attorney (NQ -6 years’ PQE) with a strong academic background in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal and technical matters for clients
  • Proven track record of managing and developing client relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for biotechnology and staying abreast of the latest scientific advancements and legal developments
