Project Sales Engineer

Stockport (Hybrid)

Scope and remit
Responsible for ensuring outstanding customer experience by responding to customer enquiries, RFP's and RFQ's in a timely manner and providing a solution fitting the client's needs and requirements.
Ensure projects are designed, specified and quoted in line with business processes, achieved margin and in time.
Managing scope of quotations in line with customer requirements and in compliance with associated industry / customer specific standards.
Proactively owning the customer relationships and ensuring timely follow-ups to delivered proposals to maximise winning bids.
Personal duties

Committed to ensuring policies and procedures are followed at all times, to enable the business to achieve its objectives.

Handle, evaluate and resolve technical problems on behalf of the Customer.

Manage quotation tools and CRM systems to ensure accuracy in data held.

To provide periodic forecasting of incoming new orders and to remain knowledgeable about the status of delivered proposals.

Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in building automation and energy management technologies.

Generate initial plant schematics, system I/O point schedules.

Estimate loose controls equipment, control panel design and obtain quote/costings, wiring installation cost and
obtain quote/costing.

The preparation and submission of final quotations to customer as per company procedure which are in compliance with customer requirements.

Follow up on sales enquiries in a timely manner.

Effective management of existing customers/clients to maintain contact & develop and maintain relationships.

Identify new opportunities for sales growth during your duties, both for Smart Controls and the wider group organisation.

Collaborate with both the Operations and Service teams to maintain communication of activity and to identify new opportunities.

Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution, from procurement to commissioning.

Facilitate smooth handover of projects to the implementation team, providing comprehensive documentation and technical support as needed.

Site based meetings and visits as per the need of the client & business.

Stay updated with training provided by Trend and other relevant sources to enhance technical knowledge and
skills.

Share insights and knowledge with colleagues, contributing to the collective growth and expertise of the team.

Ensure compliance with the company's health and safety, quality and environmental procedures in accordance with legislation and the company's policies.
In addition to the elements in this job description, this role also includes such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.
Requirements

BMS technical application experience and knowledge, with ability to demonstrate understanding and delivery of tenders and associated mechanical and electrical knowledge (essential)

Trend and Tridium product and application experience (not essential, but desirable)

Demonstrate a deep understanding of building energy management systems, including their functionalities,
installation requirements, and integration capabilities. (essential)

Strong communication skills. (essential)

Ability to demonstrate supporting less technically capable peers (desirable)

Engineering or Mechanical degree's (desirable)
Package

From £45,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)
