Building Simulation Engineer


Glasgow (Scotland Central Belt/UK Remote location will be considered)

This role will be based in our Glasgow office with hybrid, flexible and remote working options available. Locations in the Scotland Central Belt and UK will also be considered.


The Opportunity


We are currently looking for Building Simulation at all levels Engineer to join our Consultancy team, working with the country’s top IESVE modellers, in the company who created the software.


You will be working as an integral member of our expanding international consulting team, responsible for meeting clients to establish project requirements and modelling complex projects. You will run simulations of building and mechanical system design alternatives and advise clients on the results of those simulations. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile projects and will be given the encouragement and support to develop your career as part of a unique team of building simulation consultants.


The Candidate


We are looking for an experienced, simulation professional with appropriate and relevant engineering or architectural background, with the following skills and experience:


Essential:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Experienced IES Virtual Environment modeller
  • Experience in energy modelling of common UK building types (healthcare/commercial/educational)
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations Part L Section 6
  • Clear and confident communication skills


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls and/or modelling of systems
  • Knowledge of BREEAM, NABERS, LEED, ASHRAE 90.1 analysis, Passivhaus
  • Experience on daylight modelling (CBDM/Glare)
  • Experience of completing meetings with project stakeholders – provide coherent analysis to clients including findings and impacts
  • Analytical mindset and skills including the use of spreadsheets
  • Interest in Decarbonisation and Net-Zero strategies
