Assistant Building Surveyor - Salary £30K - £40K

Location – Central Birmingham

We are seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor with a minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience who is ready to embark on the next stage of their career.

The Company:

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in building surveying services, and either pursuing or recently completing their RICS accreditation.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Administration such as tender documentation, contractor agreements and measuring site progress against contracts.
  • Ensuring costs, schedules and maintenance adjustments are met in line with lease requirements
  • Wall Matters: Liasing with owners of party walls and surveying premises in a time critical manor.

  • Analysis and Resolution
  • Brief Development: understanding the end goal and what the client is aiming to achieve and relaying back to developers.
  • Delivery: making sure projects are in line with pre-agreed timeframes and budgetary constraints.

  • Writing: Identify any areas for repair and or further development.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a degree in Construction Project Management and be able to demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and a client-focused approach. Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with NEC Contracts and Project Cost Control are advantageous. You must have a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
