Job Description

All About the RoleYou will be given the training necessary to carry out your role, including mentoring by a strong, established site team. You’ll use the latest in blended learning techniques, to ensure you receive the highest levels of training whilst working on the core business activities. The hours of work are Monday-Friday 9am-5pmSpecific tasks may include: Sorting incoming material, direct deliveries, customer collections & goods inwardsKeeping the IT system cleansed & updatedStock locations, batches, amendments to stock & cutting notesInvestigating any stock losses/discrepanciesCustomer & supplier returns/creditStock accuracy scores/figuresScanning of all documentation (POD's, stock notes etc)Support with the purchase of non-steel consumable itemsDealing with customer orders and data files and issuing orders to the factory for productionCustomer Service & Continuous ImprovementAll admin support.Support the promotion and improvement of safety and awarenessProcess documents and dispatch to machinesNC Data check and load We offer YouA fully funded 18-month Business Administration Apprenticeship£13,500 salary during the apprenticeship25 days holiday + bank holidaysPension + Life AssuranceDiscounts on retail and leisure Access to health and wellbeing servicesA long-term career in the business with progression opportunities A mentor during your time on the apprenticeshipAll About YouYou will have the passion, drive, and confidence to work within the business in a collaborative, creative way. Essential Skills for the role: You should be organised and methodical in your approach with a genuine interest in developing a career in Barrett Steel. A good level of IT; able to confidently use Microsoft Word and ideally Excel and PowerPoint at a basic levelGCSE qualifications in English & Maths at grade 5 or aboveLive local to site
