Job Description

I am currently looking for a Business Development Director with a strong background in business development within the IME & CME space across the UK and Europe. This company works alongside leading medical experts, societies, and industry to provide practical, expert opinion to support best practice amongst busy healthcare professionals globally to help improve patient outcomes. This is a global business development role where you will be responsible for winning grants from sponsors for a range of Medical Education programs. This will be a mixture of leveraging existing accounts while hunting new business. You will require a strong business development background, ideally with a strong understanding of medical education or medical communications type products. If no previous exposure to these types of products, extensive experience of selling consultatively into medical affairs departments within biopharma companies will be required.

Job responsibilities include:

  1. Following an order, update CRM, create the invoice and input into CRM so that the finance team can invoice effectively and then work with relevant teams (scientific/account, etc.) to ensure the offering is delivered
  2. Refer non-Medical education opportunities to broader team
  3. Identify new growth opportunities/revenue streams for the business
  4. Identify opportunities for new products
  5. Keep abreast of the industry landscape and feedback to Group Directors
  6. Work professionally and cohesively with the internal teams i.e. medical directors, medical writers, and project managers
  7. Keep up to date with current news affairs and topics related to the industry to ensure an understanding of current industry trends, developments, and issues
  8. Identify own developmental needs and work with management in putting appropriate development plans in place
  9. To accurately identify and target via telephone calls/face-to-face meetings the key decision makers within a qualified company and speak professionally and with enthusiasm regarding the company’s medical education portfolio
  10. Ensuring the CRM is updated regularly with new supporters, all sales opportunities
