Job Description

Business Development Manager (North West England)

Job Summary:

Metaverse Learning is on a mission to change the landscape of learning through immersive technologies. We want to give everyone the opportunity to develop and learn skills in a safe and practical environment.

We develop advanced and immersive digital learning programmes that improve learners knowledge and in crease completion rates, whilst reducing consumable and training costs. Our customers tell us that this technology is beginning to transform their educational approach as there is a total lack of experiential learning.

So far our growth and trajectory are tracking significantly above expectation and we are building a solid and exciting foundation of products with almost 60% of the Further Education (FE) college market, whilst continuing to grow our customer base in other verticals.

Much of our team have worked together for over 10 years and reassembled after launching the company. As such we are committed to the team's wellbeing and development and support them in a caring family-like culture.

If you are passionate about education technology and want to be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of learning, then we would love to hear from you!

What you'll be doing:

You will use your expertise and passion for the company to build and manage a pipeline of new opportunities generating consortia and license fees directly from Principals, Vice Principals and Heads of Departments at 200+ FE colleges and 2500+ Independent Training Providers (ITP) who need to build immersive content for their students.

You will help build brand presence by using your sales experience, common-sense and interest in the technology to convert leads into consortia partners, to help us build our library of content.

You will manage the end-to-end sales process to generate interest and close deals.

You will work with the Director of Client Solutions to support the creation of a suitable sales toolkit (sales narrative, sales collateral, site content) for the sector and have experience using a CRM to manage your pipeline.

You will provide regular reporting on the performance of sales.

You will represent the company at relevant education and industry events to build the brand and pipeline.

You will work collaboratively with marketing and product teams to enhance current offerings and develop new products.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Client Solutions and although may be required to travel to our office in Milton Keynes approx. 2 days per month, the role will normally cover the North West of England and will form an integral part of our expanding Sales Team. The position is full-time and remuneration is competitive, based on experience, and includes strong commission incentives for high performers.

The type of person we would love to meet:

Passionate about making a difference and consequently making our customers successful.

Experience in B2B sales, ideally with a focus within the Further Education sector.

Confident communicator at multiple organisational levels including C-level and external stakeholders.

A strong collaborator working closely with other functions such as marketing and product, to drive the business forward.

A sound history of generating new business in in an early stage team or company with a proven track record of meeting sales targets and building long-term relationships with clients.

An agile player who can confidently navigate the start-up at high pace across multiple functions through change and transformation in a fast-growing organisation.

Preferably, but not essential, a strong network within the leadership of Further Education institutions (colleges and ITP). In addition, experience in the healthcare training sector would be an advantage, but again not essential.

Passionate about building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster effective collaboration.

As normally covering the North West of England area, candidates from the Greater Manchester area are encouraged.
