Job Description

Do you have excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail when forecasting and reporting? Do you consider yourself an influential individual who works well to tight deadlines? We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to support our Business Development team on strategic sales across training and consultancy services. This opportunity will see you playing an essential role in proposal generation, progressing opportunities through the sales cycle, freeing Managing Principals and the BD team up to be client facing. The Business Development Support Executive will be involved with all elements of sales activity including Tender and proposal generation; managing pipeline status for reporting, securing project resource and creating presentations. The successful candidates will enjoy proactive client engagement, being an interface between the client and Managing Principals and the BD Team.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will bring in the Consulting and Large Programmes team, supporting Directors and Managing Principal consultants who have BD responsibilities.

You Will:


  • Manage sales proposals production for strategic Managing Principals and BDMs
  • Manage production of all response documentation e.g. sending out Non-Disclosure Agreements and draft Framework Agreements
  • Manage Tender production process, populating where appropriate with pre-existing collateral to ensure that high quality responses are delivered to standard and on time
  • Interface with Legal department and Head of Business Development to resolve variations from standard contracting terms
  • Be an additional interface for clients to engage with, predominantly via email and phone. Support with client follow up, including proposals, workshop leads and chasing signed contracts and purchase orders
  • Arrange client meetings and support with presentation production
  • Ensure that CRM figures accurately represent both forecast and sold fee income for weekly reporting
  • Work with Service delivery to ensure Large Programmes and Consulting projects are resourced

Candidate Requirements:

  • Extremely well organised with an attention to detail, even when working towards tight deadlines
  • Highly proactive, self-motivated with a good understanding of sales and client engagement
  • Comfortable to use initiative and take ownership for projects and lead when appropriate
  • Effective communicator with strong written and oral skills
  • Confident working at all levels of the organisation with good influencing skills
  • Flexible approach, adaptable, willing to change
  • Team Player, cooperative and supportive
  • Strong MS Office skills
