ABOUT THE ROLE Due to successful company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Materials Buyer to form an integral part of the current group purchasing function of their well-established civil engineering company. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be based from the office in Huntington and the role is key to leading the company forward in assisting towards securing and maintaining key suppliers of materials such as aggregates, muckaway, and highway drainage, covering price, delivery and quality targets. REQUIREMENTS My client is looking for a professional who holds 5 years previous experience in a civil engineering purchasing role, procuring key materials such as aggregates, muckaway, and highway drainage. You must hold a full UK driving license and a proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend whilst developing a robust supplier base. Previous experience of Coins and / A-site and being CIPS qualified is preferred but not essential.On top of this, as this is a permanent opportunity, you must be able to demonstrate stability of employment, hold each previous appointment for a minimum of 2 years.
