Buyer (Lingerie) Maternity Cover Salary £27k to £60k DOE Location Peterborough Head Office Contracted Hours hours a week - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm - Office Based This is a Temporary, Full time vacancy that will close in a month at 23:59 BST. The Vacancy What is the role To implement the sourcing and buying strategy for Lingerie product, owning and supporting the delivery of agreed target KPI’s. Working in partnership with merchandiser and garment tech team to plan and balance the range.Maternity Cover / the role will be based at our Peterborough head you will do Manage the buying team ensuring targets are identified and metEnsure that supply base has the capability to meet requirementsNegotiate with suppliers for best price whilst maintaining product integrity and standards in productionUnderstand and contribute towards brand and product handwritingEnsure that agreed levels of good, better and best product are boughtReview competitor activity and ensure customer / competitor benchmarking completedUnderstand profit and intake margin strategy focusing on achieved margin targetsContinually drive newness and initiative, maximising sales and minimising riskChallenge and manage underperformance where necessaryWork with garment tech to take joint responsibility for fit and qualityRegularly visit stores and work closely with retail colleaguesWork with supply base/ wider buying team to source and develop new product opportunitiesSecure dates for product sign-off at appropriate points in the seasonOversee the critical path management for the departmentAssist in driving marketing and trading activityEnsure Competency Reviews are completed, and Personal Development plans are developed and kept live with the buying teamWork with the HR team to ensure that the teams are developed to the required skill levelsCascade strategic objectives to the wider teamsWork alongside the buying teams to ensure that agreed looks and colour palettes are developed and delivered with consistencyDevelop and share best practice across the buying floorEnsure that communication of issues and developments to the Director is timely, consistent and in the appropriate formatUndertaking project work when requiredDeliver a profitable range in a timely mannerDevelop a range which works visually alongside other products to agreed guidelinesBuild and motivate a professional and respected teamWork within budget to increase sales whilst reducing markdownWhat you will bring A passion for fashion particularly in the nonstandard sizing market.Good communication skills both verbal and written.The ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.Good time management & organisational skills.A self-motivated and proactive approach to completing given tasks.A willingness to learn & the ability to work under pressure.Strong attention to detail.A commercial outlook and a keen business sense.A proven record of good attendance & flexibility.The ability to adapt to frequent change in a high-pressure environment.Commitment to behaving with integrity and professionalism at all times.A proven history of taking personal responsibility & accountability for actions, constantly striving to improve and exceed expectations and ensuring safety and quality are never compromisedA relevant qualification at degree or equivalent level.Experience of working within a Buying team environment, within a multiple brand retailer preferableStrong commercial awareness and minimum of 3 years at Buyer LevelTangible knowledge of putting together a profitable rangeEffective communicator, presenter and team player.Ability to adopt a flexible approach when required and to think swiftly.Excellent time management and organisation skills.Confident working in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise projects.Experience of Lingerie product category The Company Yours Clothing is a retailer that provides the best value on the UK high street and internet for curvy customers.
