C# .NET Developer (Microservices) West Malling (hybrid)
Salary: Up to £60,000
I have a new opportunity to join my growing client in the telecommunications / networking / connectivity sector, developing systems which enable their clients to access high-speed networking, cloud and IoT. They have projects for Blue Chip clients all over the world, so now is a really exciting time to join a well established yet growing IoT organisation.
You will be working on software applications and cloud infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of the clients SaaS platform.
The Role:
The clients customer base is expanding rapidly, so they constantly need to innovate and create new products and solutions aligned to our strategy.
Software development, include gathering requirements, defining system functionality and writing/testing code in C# and .NET (microservices).
IoT, Data integration, event processing and scaling out the Azure/AWS cloud environments.
Opportunity to work on the development of the UI or build JavaScript skills to do so.
Main Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using .NET/C# and Azure/AWS.
Ensure that the applications are scalable, reliable, and secure.
Collaborate with other developers, DevOps engineers, and testers to ensure the highest standards of quality.
Write unit and integration tests and perform shift-left testing to identify and resolve issues early in the development process.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.
Troubleshoot and debug production issues.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in microservices, .NET/C#, Azure, DevOps, and shift-left testing.
Your experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Proven software development experience creating modern microservices solutions for OSX/Windows using C# / .NET core on Azure.
Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, gRPC, SignalR)
Experience with Entity Core Framework/Dapper Object-Relational Mapping (ORM)
Experience with DevOps practices and SDLC tools e.g. Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, YAML pipelines or Github Actions.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code ideally on Azure or AWS
Experience working with zero downtime/containerised environments (fault domains, blue/green deployments). Experience with Managed identities; Azure Active Directory or OAuth, OpenID connect etc.
Experience with shift-left testing and test automation
Strong understanding of software development best practices and design patterns
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug production issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to establish rapport with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
Take a proactive approach to work, good with handling uncertainty and can manage their work without close supervision.
Able to demonstrate to apply structured thinking, simplifying complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts, to the resolution of challenges.
DBS Basic check required.
Desirables :
Understanding/background in electronics design, telecommunications and radio
Javascript experience is plus with experience of frontend framework e.g. Angular.
