Cabin Services Team Leader

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The purpose of the Team Leader is to ensure quality of cleaning standards are met within the timeframe set per aircraft. The ideal candidate will have experience of aircraft cleaning and will effectively act as second in command to the Cabin Appearance Manager, monitoring aircraft to ensure compliance with relevant processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Proactive management of cleaning teams on an individual and group basis.
  2. Ensure that the team maintains quality standards of cleaning and that security checks are carried out effectively on their assigned aircraft.
  3. Set an example and deliver legendary service.
  4. Liaise with movement control to obtain daily work details and relevant paperwork, ensuring all paperwork is duly submitted and complies with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
  5. Attend briefings regarding key focus cleaning areas/specific requirements and effectively communicate the briefing to the team.
  6. Efficiently plan and allocate tasks fairly to team members.
  7. Update security check sheets in line with compliance.
  8. Accurately complete and return secure clean and vehicle defect documentation.
  9. Collaboratively work with allocations team, effectively communicating aircraft arrival time, delays, and secure cleaning turnaround times.
  10. Monitor the team to ensure all members are working to agreed standards and comprehensively searching all required areas using the correct equipment.
  11. Responsible for signing in and out equipment.
  12. Complete final walkthrough with the teams to rectify and prevent call backs.
  13. Effectively manage, coach, and mentor aircraft cleaners to meet service level agreements.
  14. Responsible for ensuring absence management processes are effectively managed for cabin cleaners, with those absent effectively reported to Cabin Appearance Managers.
  15. Ensure staff under your control sign on and off appropriately and correctly in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures.
  16. Ensure that the employees perform their jobs effectively, applying good management practices including effective appraisals and assessments to achieve optimum staff performance, timekeeping, development, and retention.
  17. Maintain staff discipline and conformance with Company and regulatory requirements, utilizing the Company disciplinary process where necessary.
  18. Ensure all paperwork is managed and processed in line with GDPR.

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.
  2. Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  3. Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  4. Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Previous experience as a driver, preferably with passenger transport.
  2. Previous Supervisory/Management experience.
  3. Strong communication skills.
  4. A general understanding of H&S legislation.
  5. Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
  6. Strong attention to detail and vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  7. Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  8. Flexible availability to work various shift patterns.
  9. Valid driving license desirable.
  10. Computer literate.
