CAD Design Engineer - DV Cleared

Location: Aldermaston - Full time onsite

Start date: ASAP

End date: 6 Months

Clearance: Candidates must currently be cleared to DV level. There is no scope to obtain this clearance prior to starting.

Role Overview

Develop designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) to ensure that utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment, and facilities adhere to all relevant legislation, standards, and requirements across the entire facility lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards.
  • Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements.
  • Using CAD software package (Autodesk Inventor) to generate and modify construction drawings, renderings, report graphics, interior drawings and other digital images.
  • Developing, organising and preparing a variety of layouts, drawings and designs from written or verbal specifications, from rough or detailed sketches, or converting paper documents into computerised files.
  • Producing various design options, following technical professionals’ verbal instructions or ideas to assist in resolving a design concept not yet completely defined.
  • Self-checking models and drawings to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy of outputs.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
  • Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with discipline specialists to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintenance of Design Change Registers and ensuring appropriate levels of configuration control are applied.

Experience

Essential - Experiencing of delivering 3D and 2D CAD outputs on large engineering projects. Producing designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.

Desirable - Experience of working / operating in a high-hazard and / or highly regulated industry.

Regulatory Requirements

Essential - Able to work on a nuclear licensed site.
