Role: CAD Designer

Hours:40 hrs per week

Your mission as CAD Designer is to uphold this vision by ensuring the materials and processes utilised are drawn accurately and efficiently to ensure best proposals and designs, guaranteeing exceptional quality and worth of investment for the company clients. Reporting to the Senior CAD Designer, you will be expected to design company products to the required standards maintaining excellent quality and efficiency for product manufacturing.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

 

·       A comprehensive understanding of materials and processes utilized by the company is essential alongside being able to interpret site dimensions and requirements.

·       Excellent rapport with all stakeholders in the business both in-house, and externally to maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships.

·       An eye for detail, finish and form and be able to maintain efficient safe database administration.

·       Ability to produce technical manufacture drawings and client proposal drawings/imagery.

·       Manufacturing knowledge, specifically of Cox processes such as lighting manufacture and fabrication of metal furniture using materials such as glass, bronze, brass and steel and stone.

·       Create custom drawings from the standard product range and develop bespoke designs or new products.

·       Produce comprehensive product drawings for manufacturing.

·       Preparation of client drawings and interpret client architectural plans.

·       Checking approved prototypes against technical manufacturing drawings.

·       Drafting of accurate and detailed installation guides.

·       Liaise with manufacturing department to ensure client briefs and expectations are fulfilled and understood.

·       Maintain company design database.

Knowledge and Experience

·       Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection, including: Auto CAD, 3ds Max, Fusion 360, Inventor Professional.

·       Rendering: Blender, Keyshot, or similar.

·       Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.

·       Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.

·       Previous experience in a similar role.


Qualifications (desirable)

·       BA(Hons) Product Design, Architecture or comparable.
