Job Description

We are seeking Senior Managers to join our UK Risk & Compliance Consulting Team, based in London and on client sites, with expertise in capital markets, financial risk change across process, data, technology and methodology.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll deliver within our Capital Markets client engagements, primarily within the Risk function and Front Office. You will interact directly with client stakeholders, often owning specific deliverables on assignments, additionally Managers will have line management responsibility for junior team members. Your role will also include supporting internal proposition and thought leadership development on industry specific offerings, and supporting the sales process through proposal development.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks on projects. They would also need to have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm. They should be of an intellectually curious mindset and interested in continually developing their professional and technical skills. Many projects give you the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams or with people from our network firms overseas.

Risk and Compliance transformation is an ongoing focus area for many of our clients, in particular understanding how best to exploit new digital technologies (such as transitioning to cloud and leveraging new AI/analytics capabilities) and take advantage of emerging leading practices to improve financial performance and gain competitive advantage. Specifically this will include helping clients improve the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management across the enterprise, through advanced technology and data analytics, enabling process digitisation, capabilities transformation and managing the risks of pivoting to new digital and FinTech ecosystems.

Required experience

  • Work experience and knowledge of a number of financial risk areas, including:
    • Financial risk management frameworks and operating models
    • Risk and data architecture
    • Credit and counterparty credit risk measurement and management
    • Market risk measurement and management
    • Traded risk management, valuations, derivative pricing and experience with booking models or trading / sales processes
    • Capital requirements calculation and management under Basel III standards including FRTB and SA-CCR
    • Investment bank portfolio management, unwind or restructuring experience including with respect to Recovery and Resolution Planning activities such as Solvent Wind-Down
    • Knowledge of the risk technology vendor landscape (including cloud)
    • Business analysis
    • Technical analysis
  • Experience or knowledge of digitisation or innovation strategies for risk & compliance management, such as the adoption of advanced analytics and modeling capabilities or migration of infrastructure to cloud native architectures
  • Consulting / advisory or industry experience in Capital Markets buy-side or sell-side firms
  • Experience of change or transformation programmes within the Front Office or Risk domain
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and key change programmes (e.g. Basel IV, post-Archegos reforms and RRP)
  • Explicit experience taking risk technology to market
  • Previous experience delivering and owning technology as a product

Required skills and qualifications

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have quantitative skills with respect to data analysis / modeling or deeper analytical skills in the broader financial risk domain
  • Have a logical and quantitative mind-set, with the ability to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving
  • Ambitious and self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate that you stay abreast of industry and technology developments.
  • Have the potential to develop strong people management, client handling and development skills, including interpersonal sensitivity and influencing skills.
  • Have strong project and financial management skills.
