The successful candidate will work as a core member and leader of our Carbon Service Line, focused on helping clients use our expertise in valuable and impactful ways to lead in their sector. You will help us deliver world leading sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for public and private sector clients focusing on the natural and built environment. You will be actively encouraged to challenge yourself, learn new things, and use your skills wherever they can make an impact across the extent of our Sustainability Advisory and wider business.Role accountabilities:The role is responsible for leading the growth and development of the Carbon Service Line. Core Carbon services include: GHG Accounting and Reporting Carbon Management in infrastructure and buildings (PAS) Embodied Carbon /Whole Life carbon reporting, and LCAs (OneClick LCA) Net Zero Strategies, and Decarbonisation Roadmaps Verification (ISO-3) Sustainability Supply Chain Strategies and implementation (Scope 3) Key Elements of the job include: Working with the Sustainability Advisory Team Leadership to establish a Growth Plan for the Carbon Service Line, within the Sustainability Advisory team and take responsibility for its implementation. Ultimate accountability for the successful delivery, in terms of financial, commercial, technical and programme requirements, of all Carbon projects. Client liaison including ownership of client relationships aligned to growth plan. Build strong working relationships with other Arcadis teams, key stakeholders, and technical disciplines, both internal and external to foster co-operation and identify opportunities for Carbon and the wider Sustainability Advisory Team. Ensure strong technical delivery and quality across consultant delivery team, adhering to industry standards and client expectations. Seek out opportunities to develop and maintain a strong professional profile. Be a sector leader for the Sustainability Advisory team in one of Arcadis core sectors (healthcare, financial institutions, retail, central government), establish relationships internally and identify opportunities for the team. Identify client opportunities to work collaboratively across our Service Lines to develop joint propositions (e.g. delivering Carbon and Energy Transition services to a single client). Qualifications & Experience: Substantial knowledge of and experience in working on a range of projects in the carbon and sustainability field in the core services noted above Strong understanding of technical and commercial matters Strong consulting skills including project management and client relationship management at senior management level Experience in managing business relationships at senior management level. Desired: Experience of business development including the development of business cases, define scopes, plan, and delivery of projects Confident in data analytics and data interpretation Bachelor's / Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Chartered professional status, or equivalent
