Pay: £10,308 - £10,807

Hours per week: 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 10:30

Weeks per year: 52 weeks per year

We are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join our friendly team across two sites.

The role will consist of painting and decorating, identifying and fix basic maintenance defects, report issues as appropriate and liaise with contractors. You will be required to ensure site cleanliness meets standards and maintain an awareness of Hampshire County Council's Health & Safety policies and procedures, applying them in the day-to-day job requirements.

Act as a key holder for emergencies. Attend school in response to "call outs" in emergencies.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have some caretaking and/or building maintenance experience
  • Good DIY skills.
  • Be able to work efficiently and effectively, maintaining the school grounds inside and out
  • Take pride in their work and undertaking relevant health and safety checks
  • Work well as part of a highly successful school team and have a good sense of humour
  • Good communication and an ability to work with contractors from outside of the school setting

This position would suit someone keen to enhance their site management and maintenance skills, with opportunity for training and development within the area of caretaking and site management through Hampshire County Council.

As this role is a part of a wider team holidays can be taken within school term time, which is unusual when working in a school.
