Category Buyer Job Title: Category BuyerLocation: West Midlands Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Dependent on ExperienceWorking Pattern: Site BasedAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Category Buyer to work with a market-leader in the Fresh Produce sector!For the right candidate, this will form the next natural progression in your career OR the veer into Procurement you've always been looking for.Role overview:To lead procurement of your designated product portfolio in the UK:Developing and maintaining profitable relationships with suppliers.Develop and manage your daily relationships with suppliers & internal teams.Provide timely supply updates to the commercial sales team. Main Duties:Develop, agree and implement procurement plans, according to company buying policiesAccountable for the delivery of targeted margins & volume as described in the annual budget.Strive to improve the trading profit while reducing operating costs. Specifically, target a 100% recovery of losses from suppliers.Responsible for accurate & timely administration including:- Preparation of weekly business unit profitability & margin projections- Identification & management of shortages/ over supply- Use & maintenance of NAV system- Order & arrival of products in a timely well communicated manner- Timely completion of supplier claims- Timely placing of supplier programmesEnsure regular communication with suppliers to review & monitor progress, adjust plans in order to strengthen our KPI performance.Delivery of supplier development plans including completion of supplier visits as appropriate.Plus many more.Key Criteria:3+ Years Procurement Exp. or 5+ years Fresh Produce role in a Technical or Data-focussed role.Able to manipulate data from the system / draw conlusions from the data and take actions.Commercial awareness of major FMCG operation.Spanish speaking is an advantage but not essential.
