Senior Finance Manager (Interim)
Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to oversee the month end process and budgeting and forecasting process across a Charity in London. The role will consolidate management accounts and budgets at the group-level. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a UK non-profit environment and ideally have experience using Unit4 Agresso.
Your responsibilities
- Decision making by budget holders through timely, accurate and meaningful financial management information, including leading on development of organisation’s annual budget and long-term financial projections
- On the monthly financial accounting and management accounts process, ensuring that month-end submissions are completed on time and that budget holders receive timely financial information
- On the quarterly reforecast process, providing timelines to key stakeholders, ensuring that templates are ready, and consolidating forecasts upon submission from budget holders
- In the preparation of all relevant tax and regulatory returns to HMRC, financial regulators and other governmental entities as necessary
- Effective treasury management for the organisation, with accurate monitoring and forecasting of cash balances; develop the cash flow forecast to run from our new finance system
- The UK Finance team on the month-end process and lead on process improvement for our monthly income reconciliation to Salesforce
- Administration and support, including leading on system improvements to improve the monthly accounting cycle and budgeting and forecasting
- Technical accounting support and advice to all finance teams across the Charity on an ad-hoc basis
You are
- Experienced in financial management including up to date knowledge on accounting and UK charity regulations, including FRS and SORP
- Experience of VAT, Corporation Tax return filing
- Experience of overseeing the finance team, financial systems and processes
- Experienced in ensuring sound financial management across an organisation through the development and maintenance of strong financial systems, control, and accountability;
- Expertise in both strategic and annual business planning through to monitoring and reporting against core business aims
- A thorough knowledge of the legal and accounting context for UK charities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- High levels of energy and personal resilience
- A result oriented and problem-solving approach to work and challenges and an ability to involve others whilst also making decisions in a timely manner
- Ideally experienced in the international charity sector
- Ideally have used Unit4 (Agresso) in previous roles
- CCAB qualified or hold an equivalent accountancy qualification
