Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer to play a pivotal role in the scale-up of our novel climate tech. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to the acceleration of our technology through the Technology Readiness Levels. You will be instrumental in building sophisticated models to predict reactor behaviour, optimising gas flows, enhancing temperature measurement techniques, advancing our syngas cleanup and progressing our carbon capture methodologies. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement models to simulate the behaviour of chemical reactors under various conditions. 
  • Analyse gas flow dynamics to optimise performance and efficiency. 
  • Design and processes for temperature measurement and control within the reactor environment. 
  • Support efforts in syngas cleanup and carbon dioxide separation, proposing innovative solutions to enhance process efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with the research team to troubleshoot process-related issues and implement continuous improvement strategies. 
  • Provide technical expertise to support the scaling-up of our carbon-negative technology, ensuring it meets industry standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Document all design work and process improvements meticulously, contributing to innovation and patent applications as required. 

 

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Experience working on medium to large-scale projects, for a minimum of five years
  • Proven experience in modelling and simulation of chemical processes, particularly reactor behaviour, gas flows, and temperature control. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly and concisely. 
  • Passion for sustainability and climate technology innovations. 


Desirable Experience

  • Hands-on experience with syngas cleanup gas separation technologies.
  • Experience working in an R&D environment.
  • Experience with ASPEN, SolidWorks and Siemens Control Systems.
  • Experience in defining requirements to partners and technical suppliers.
