The role of Support Analyst is important to us. Based at our Capenhurst site you'll undertake a wide range of chemical analysis work against set operational procedures in a safe manner ensuring that analytical results are delivered to time and without error. In addition, the Analyst is required to carry out checks and calibrations in the B240 Plant Room and ensure there is a sufficient stock of essential departmental consumables.

What will your day look like?
Carry out a varied range of laboratory work, including sample registration, sample preparation, chemical processing, use of lab equipment and operation of major analytical instruments to generate analytical data that support the Capenhurst site and the wider Group business activities.
Monitor data generated and alert an Analyst III / Senior Analyst should anything unusual or unexpected occur.
Condition and discharge liquid effluents when collection tanks are full, following set procedures to ensure that discharges do not breach regulatory limits.
Carry out stock check on all consumables and arrange for stock re-order.
Review and approve specified results prior to reporting to the customer.
What do you need to be great at this role?
Educated to Level 3 (UK/NI) e.g. A level, BTEC level, NVQ Level 3 in a relevant scientific discipline
Experience of working in an Analytical Chemistry laboratory.
Understanding of working practices within a working laboratory.
Experience of following set procedures where the work requires high levels of attention to detail.
Have experience of working in a highly regulated environment with significant focus on safety.
Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data / results to support specific investigations.
