Founded in December 1856, Earl Shilton Building Society (esbs) is a long established buildingsociety entirely focused on its members and the communities and issues that matter to them. The Society has always been based in Earl Shilton in Leicestershire, and thereis also a second branch in nearby Barwell.

The Society has assets of over £180 million, over 14,000 members and 40 staff. It is in excellentfinancial health and remains committed, as it always has been, to providing a range ofsimple-to-understand financial service products to meet members’ needs. The Society prides itselfon always offering a friendly and professional service, tailored to the needs of members. The esbs Board seeks to appoint a motivated and engaging Chief Executive Officer who will succeedthe incumbent who plans to retire later this year. The Board welcomes applications from individualswho have recent leadership experience from within a UK regulated retail mortgage lender, who havedriven commercial growth and have led, or had oversight of, IT projects. Preferred candidates arealso likely to be excellent communicators and influencers who have an innate empathy with mutualvalues. This is a Board appointment and is subject to regulatory approval under the Senior Managersand Certification Regime (SMF1, SMF16).
