Job Description

Chief People Officer (CPO) at Brompton Bicycle is a strategic leadership role, part of our C-Suite and reports directly to our CEO. In this newly created role, the CPO will lead the development and implementation of a people strategy that is aligned with our unique opportunity and ambitious growth plan. You'll lead Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Culture & Engagement, Compensation & Benefits all while driving positive change across the business.

This is a landmark opportunity to be the first Chief People Officer at Brompton Bicycle. You will join a highly engaged and collaborative team passionate about delivering a progressive people agenda, ensuring our work aligns with our purpose of creating urban freedom for happier lives.

  • HR Strategy: Develop and implement an effective HR strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders, providing advice, guidance, and coaching.
  • Team Management: Lead and support the People Team, ensuring performance delivery and personal development.
  • People Operations: Manage performance programs, support leadership in complex ER cases, and drive succession planning.
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment, diversity and inclusion efforts, and agency relationships.
  • Learning & Development: Deliver management development programs and report on L&D activities.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Develop a global EVP, ensure efficient payroll processes, and manage incentive plans.
  • Culture & Engagement: Foster an inclusive culture, manage the employee engagement platform, and support accreditations.
  • HR Systems & Budgets: Support Workday deployment, leverage analytics, and manage People budgets.

Desired Experience

  • Work experience as a Chief HR Officer, VP of HR, or similar role in a global company particularly with exposure to US, EMEA and APAC.
  • Experience in strategic planning and all HR functions.
  • Hands-on experience with HR software (HRIS, ATS, Workday).
  • Understanding of labour legislation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Qualification in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, or relevant field.

  • Experienced leader with a proven track record of leading company wide transformation in line with ambitious commercial opportunities.
  • Expertise in guiding CEOs, C-Suite, and Directors towards organisational transformation.
  • Strong digital and data orientation, preferably from a global, multi-channel consumer business background.
  • Personal attributes: high energy, resilience, assertiveness and high emotional intelligence.
