Claims Finance Business Partner

Salary: Up to £55,000

The claims finance business partner is a member of the finance team playing a key role in shaping the performance agenda and providing the business with choices around optimising profitability and helping it to understand the consequences of the decisions including impacts on customer and the risk environment.

The successful candidate will support the shaping and achievement of business plans and goals through commercially focused, effective, and timely financial advice and support to the senior finance business partner & claims personal lines and commercial lines directors and their motor teams and the understanding of the consequences of decisions made.

A bit about the job:

You will educate the business to ensure that they understand their key value drivers and how they are performing against them, and their financial management responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Use financial modelling & analysis for inflation setting and driving business performance.
  • Manage the indemnity costs that fall outside of the automated processes.
  • Manage financial plans, forecasts, and actual allocations regarding Non-Fault Income.
  • Support Claims Commercial Motor by providing insight and challenge to drive optimisation of performance, using available intelligence. Communicate findings to senior management.
  • Produce financial information for Claims Monthly Performance Reviews for decision making.
  • Support Claims Personal Motor with new initiatives, Bi-lateral meetings, and benefit tracking.
  • Support the BI team in building Motor KPIs to drive better performance conversations.
  • Identify ongoing risks and opportunities, ensuring business management is aware and appropriate actions are taken and delivered.
  • Own the business performance culture - where financial targets are embedded, monitored and challenged throughout the business.
Skills & Experience required:
  • Have previous financial management in a complex organization.
  • Technical background, able to link technical issues to commercial substance and find solutions to bridge between the two.
  • A good knowledge of the regulatory and legislative landscape.
  • Strong awareness of control & governance requirements in a regulated environment.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of business profit drivers.
