Claims Manager – Non-Clinical


Salary: Agenda for Change, band 6 (£35,392.00 - £42,618.00)


Location: NHS Resolution’s Leeds offices – hybrid working or fully remote


Contract: Permanent

This role offers flexible working with a possibility to work fully remotely or in a hybrid or fully office-based setting from our Leeds Offices at 7 & 8 Wellington Place, Leeds, LS1 4PU.

The claims teams manage claims emanating from former PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities, which transferred to the Secretary of State. The Claims teams work in an interesting and dynamic climate, all contributing to a continually improving claims service. The NHS Resolution Claims Management function is entering a phase of transformation and expansion with a vision to deliver a single, integrated claims function, with a supportive organisational structure that avoids duplication of effort and allows teams to develop their skills. This is an exciting time for the function with a wide range of opportunities available to support our aims in delivering our future vision.

We are therefore recruiting to Non-Clinical Case Manager role to join the Claims Management teams on a permanent basis.

The opportunity:

As a non-clinical case manager you will be responsible for investigating, reserving, negotiating and settling a range of non-clinical liability and property claims, including all types of Employers’, Public, Product and Directors’ and Officers’ liability, Data Protection and Professional Indemnity claims, from reporting to conclusion, within agreed authority levels, in accordance with the NHS Resolution’s policies/ procedures and utilising the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) portal as required.


What you’ll be doing:

The successful applicant will contribute to successfully managing claims and will be responsible for their own portfolio of complex and non-complex cases and conduct the investigation, quantification, and negotiation of these claims to conclusion.


What you’ll bring:


In addition to having technical knowledge and experience of claims management in clinical negligence or non-clinical setting, and excellent organisational skills the Case Manager will also demonstrate:

  • Understanding of current law and relevant statutes.
  • Ability to draft documents and complex correspondence in a concise and professional manner (particularly in legal area).
  • Evidence and ability of managing a large caseload within strict time limits and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work as a team member and collaboratively with other teams.
  • Exceptional customer focus and awareness.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to focus on continuous service improvement and innovation.
