Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering agreed procurement targets in relation to savings and category strategies
- Take responsibility for the purchase of goods and/or services, deliver portfolio of high value contracts in complex commodity areas and manage risk.
- Identify new areas for contracting and work with stakeholders to complete clinical trials and R&D
- Offer advice on commercial and contractual issues from throughout the procurement process
- Seek new and innovative ways to achieve cash savings.
- Provide sound advice on purchasing activities and contract management
- Work closely with departments across the business to enable clients to produce robust specifications with clear weighting criteria
- Leading on supplier meetings pre-and post-tender.
- Look for new business opportunities and continuously improve the quality of service to clients
- Attend client review meetings and follow up on any issues/actions agreed
- Contribute to the leadership and management of large procurement projects within the clinical category
- Research the market to assess risk and trends
- Manage the criteria for supplier selection
- Manage the tender and negotiation exercise in line with regulations and SFIs for each client
- Agree the right SLA agreements and KPIs after contract award stage
- Develop and apply procurement policies across the function
Required Experience:
- You will need to have managed end to end procurements across the clinical spend
- Experience of working to PCR2015, ideally within the NHS
- Strong stakeholder management experience is essential
- Experience of high cost reduction/savings across the clinical category is a must
