A fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Coding Service Manager has arisen to work along with and support the Head of Clinical Coding and Informatics.
You will be expected to provide a quality service including the running and improvement of the departments operations. You will be responsible for planning and organising staff and ensuring key deliverables are achieved.

Role and Responsibilities
- You will be running the Clinical Coding Department and ensuring the Clinical Coding records adhere to national and local standards.
- To be responsible for measuring and reporting coding productivity both by the department and the individual clinical coder.
- Anticipate upcoming changes to clinical coding and tariff assignments, ensuring that systems and procedures are updated to reflect these changes.
- To develop and implement a structured audit program and identifying any areas that need improvement.
- To assist and support the Head of Clinical Coding and Informatics to maintain a Recruitment & Retention strategy for the department.
- Be the sounding point to counsel and support staff in relation to performance, developmental needs and training.
Essential Criteria
- ACC accreditation.
- Up-to-date Clinical Coding Foundation Course/Refresher - within the last 3 years.
- Conducting and developing audits.
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS Dataset requirements for Clinical Coding
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Work well under pressure and effectively manage your workload
