The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Director looking to progress here at Wilton House Vet Clinic.
Day-to-day duties would see the successful candidate overseeing the general running of the practice with your main focus being clinical work, operating and consulting. You will work in tandem with the Practice Director, Practice Manager, Area Director, and Area Support Manager to develop and lead the direction of the clinic.
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to fulfil this role as we require someone who will be able to help mentor and coach our less experienced vets.
We are a friendly team at Wilton House. Working hours are flexible and would be between 8 am-7 pm on weekdays and a share of Saturday mornings 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. No out-of-hours are required and minimal sole charge, part-time hours will be considered also. We can offer a wide and varied caseload along with a good level of surgical work.
The salary for this role is up to £80,000 depending on experience.
About Us
We are in Guisborough, which is located on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We are directly located on the Cleveland Way National Trail. Beautiful beaches are close by, such as Saltburn and Whitby and the vibrant cities of Newcastle, Durham and York are all easily accessible.
Our team are dedicated to offering exceptional care and we like to treat patients as if they are our own pets. We offer a well-equipped surgery; a fully operational operating theatre, digital x-ray, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory.
About the Team and Culture
Our team prides itself on being kind, caring and empathetic, not just to our patients but to our team members also. Our supportive nursing team is made up of our Head Nurse, who is also our Practice Manager. She is passionate about weight management, and senior care, including arthritis management, diabetes and all aspects of nutrition. She holds an ECC qualification and is studying towards her nutrition certificate also. We also have four other RVNs who share between them the daily nurse consultations which run the majority of every day during the week. They too also run nurse clinics, each with different areas of interest, including, behaviour, feline medicine, dermatology etc. We have one VCA who is soon to become a student Veterinary Nurse and two animal nursing assistants. We also have four supportive receptionists who are actively involved in administrative duties also.
We love to support our local charities and occasionally participate in fundraising events. And cake……………there is always cake!!!
Applicant Requirements
The ideal candidate will be RCVS registered and demonstrate excellent communication skills. We hope to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to our team with great clinical and personable skills, competent in all routine surgeries and consults and happy to oversee the aforementioned.
Ideally, you would have some management or Clinical Director experience, but the role may suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and learn the skills needed for a Clinical Director position.
You will be enthusiastic, passionate and a caring individual who works well within a team. We are a busy practice, and some days workflow can be challenging, we require some resilience, stamina, problem-solving skills, and energy to allow the practice to progress and continue to move forward.
