Job Description

Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon
Tern Vets, Newport
Up to £75,000 depending on experience, up to £5,000 relocation support, plus benefits

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step in your career? Tern Vets is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Lead Vet to join our team in Newport on a permanent basis.

This is more than just a role; it's an opportunity to drive clinical excellence and shape the future of our forward-thinking practice. Working collaboratively with the Practice Director, you will lead with humility, driving positive change and directing the implementation of clinical initiatives to enhance the high level of veterinary and client care provided. Your role will involve supporting the Practice Director in fostering a unified "1 team approach" within the practice.

As Clinical Lead, you will be proficient in general practice, medicine, and surgery, and either VetGDP advisor-ready or willing to undergo training. You will play an active role in the development of the clinical team, conducting annual reviews, and shaping practice protocols. While the role is predominantly clinical (80%), you will also have 20% protected time for non-clinical aspects, allowing you to focus on driving improvements and advancing clinical performance.

The Clinical Lead Vet role entails up to 40 hours per week, with a requirement for at least 3 days of presence across both practices (excluding Saturdays) to ensure appropriate levels of support and leadership.
