The Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specilalist is an integral part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.They will provide expert nursing as a key member of our growing rheumatology service.

Main duties of the jobTo provide specialist nursing and management of patients within the Rheumatology department, The post holder will work autonomously and in collaboration with the medical and wider multi-disciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
To provide specialist nursing advice and procedures to support and facilitate exemplary, individualised care to patients and relatives and darers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
The post-holder will provide high level specialist nursing care and support dealing with complex situations and when required will deputise for their line manager.
The post holder will be flexible in provision of cover and will act as a professional role model in clinical care, teaching, training, research and audits in their specialist area.

Person SpecificationEducation/ qualificationsEssential - Registered Nurse.
- Undergraduate degree in nursing or related subject
- Teaching and Assessing qualification or equivalent teaching experience
Desirable - Masters in related subject or working towards MSc.
- Post registration study/qualification relevant to specialty
ExperienceEssential - Significant post registration experience in specialty area
- Experience managing patients relevant to specialist area
- Proven teaching and assessing skills.
Desirable - Experience in Rheumatology specialty
Skills/knowledge/ abilitiesEssential - Demonstrate commitment though involvement in Trust wide initiatives/committees
- Good IT skills.
- Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional conduct
- Evidence of continuing professional development
