The role of the Training and Education Centre Assistant is to support the CTS (Clinical Training Specialist) and training and education teams in their mission to provide high-quality patient training allowing the patient to learn how to carry out their own peritoneal dialysis.

This role is a mixture of general reception duties along with administration tasks. This role also support the regional CTSs. You ill also learn some basic key clinical skills to allow additional support to the nursing teams and patients.

We are either looking for a healthcare assistant interested in admin duties or an admin person interested in some clinical duties. This role would suite someone who already is working in admin in a care or Nursing home.

Role and Responsibilities for the Patient Servives Administrator

Responsible for admin related tasks in relation to patient and healthcare professionals attending T&EC

The role covers all general receptionist duties relating to the running and regulation of the centre

Following appropriate training know how to set up a peritoneal dialysis machine and simple problem solving under supervision of nurse on duty.

Following appropriate training able to identify the different dialysis solutions in use at the education centre.

Responsible for answering calls, organising patient booking service, recording, and relaying messages

Collating and analysing all the patient satisfaction surveys as per the regulations

Coordinating all the purchasing related activities for T&EC

Practical duties including related to Vantive devices and products

Answering calls and taking clear messages

Speaking with patients and their relatives prior to their stay at the centre

Greeting patients and visitors to the centre

Checking training procedures are printed and stationary is kept stocked

Opening the door to receive deliveries

Help the clinical team with general tasks such as patient training material changes and ensuring documents are up to date

Ensuring the centre is compliant with purchasing policies and all invoices are administered appropriately and on time

Be responsible for all food orders and ensure adequate stock levels.

Requesting quotes for maintenance work when required and purchasing general equipment again when required

Organise transport for patients

Ensure cleaning is done to the standard required of the Care Quality Commission

Ordering of dialysis stock and monitoring stock levels

The assistant will support the CTS regional team in administration tasks such as organising travel, nurse workshop administration, raising grants etc.

Responsible for admin-related tasks in relation to patient and healthcare professionals training workshops across the UK

Deputise for the registered manager on site specific duties

Work in collaboration with the registered manager on CQC related activities and audits

Qualifications/ Education and/or Experience:

GCSE level education

Computer experience essential with Office 365

Good written and spoken English

Enhanced DBS check

Excellent written and spoken English

Be able to work independently and help deal with possible emergencies

Hours of work full time 37.5 hours per week

Previous admin experience

Previous working in a healthcare setting desirable but not crucial
