The NLFS is recruiting B7Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologists OR Band 6 applicants who arelikely to achieve registration within 6-12 monthsof their start date to provide psychological input within the following pathways:
The candidates will support the provision of psychological interventions within an MDT setting. This will include the provision of highly specialist psychological assessment and interventions, in addition to contributing to developing research, offering supervision, training and reflective practice to psychology staff and other clinicians, as well as join the research team to support with the development of research/service evaluations.
It is an exciting time to join NLFS, as we embed trauma-informed and co-produced care across the service and conduct a range of QI and research projects to help our learning and processes. There are a range of training, CPD and research opportunities available for you to develop your skills in this area; we have recently trained staff in Schema-Focused Therapy and EMDR.
The post holder will provide a range of assessments and interventions as part of a MDT, leading on the delivery of psychology within the team. The role includes direct clinical work (1:1 and group work) and consultation/training to colleagues and other professionals. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of research projects and service evaluations in our service.
The ethos of the service is based on recovery and enablement with focus on individual service user needs. These posts require a high level of written and verbal communication skills, as well as an ability to engage well with agencies, colleagues, and service users, often conveying complex or sensitive information. The roles would also include supervision of more junior psychological staff.

We have been working together in a Partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust for some time, with a single Chair and Chief Executive since 2021 and single Executive Team since 2022. We launched North London Mental Health Partnership Strategy in May 2023 and in July 2023 our Boards agreed that coming together to create one new Trust is best for our service users, our staff and our local communities. Subject to final approvals, we will be formally established as one new Trust on 1 October 2024.
