Due to continued growth and expansion, there is now an opportunity available for an experienced, highly organised, and pro-active CNC Machinist, working on MillTurn machines (CNC Lathes with Live/Driven Tooling), reporting to the Machine Shop Team Lead.

Job Profile
As the successful CNC Turner, you will be responsible for the programming, setup and precision CNC machining of parts and components in accordance with a production schedule, performing machine maintenance, programming and the general organisation and housekeeping of the area.
Being diligent, skilled, and organised, having a sound understanding of CNC MillTurn machines, producing precision machined parts to exacting tolerances.
Duties:
  • Create / write Programs from engineering drawings, Setup and Operating CNC Turning machines (MillTurn Mazak Intergrex), with Mazatrol controls (all programming is done on the machines).
  • Produce components to drawing specifications and required quality standards to exacting tolerances.
  • Self-Inspect parts / components.
  • Maintain machines, tooling, and good housekeeping always.
  • Organise area & tooling to maximise productivity.
  • Operate plant equipment to procedure and health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain all health and safety disciplines.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities across the business.
  • Assist in problem solving when issues arise.
  • To be flexible in a small team orientated environment.
  • Program parts from drawings directly.

Skills & Experience:
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Must be able to write / create CNC Programs on the machines, using Mazatrol controls.
  • Previous MillTurn (CNC Lathes with Driven / Live Tooling) experience is a must.
  • CNC Turning parts and components to exacting tolerance, working from various materials from general engineering to hardened steels and alloys.
  • Producing small to medium batch runs.

Hours of Work:
  • 39 hours per week
  • 07.00 to 15.30 Monday to Thursday, 07.00 to 12 noon on Friday
  • Lots of overtime available, paid at x1.5hrs
