We have a new opportunity to be part of the Machine Shop team in the role of CNC Turner on the weekend shift.


In this role you will be required to:

  • Program, set and operate Mazak lathes using both Mazatrol controls and Hypermill to produce machined components
  • Liaising with colleagues in the Machine Shop and other departments
  • Ability to deal with technical challenges as they arise and report risk to the plan
  • Meeting challenging and demanding deadlines
  • Maintaining consistent high standards
  • Being proactively aware of Health and Safety requirements
  • To understand the COSHH data, data sheets and their location.
  • To review and continuously improve machining methods and produce parts to the required quality standards
  • To keep the ERP System up to date with latest transactions
  • To ensure good communication between shifts.
  • To assist in Quality Assurance within the department
  • To demonstrate a flexible and understanding approach to the department’s needs
  • To lead by example
  • To meet the requirements and demands of the busy periods
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure
  • To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard


Key skills:

  • Previous experience programming, setting, and operating Mazak lathes with Mazatrol
  • Experience with Openmind-Hypermill would be an advantage
  • Experience and knowledge of a machine shop environment required
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A methodical and thorough approach to your work
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to work well with colleagues
  • Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a dependable team player
  • Possess good IT skills
  • Have a positive attitude and be willing to help throughout the department
  • Work well under pressure to meet time critical deadlines
  • A willingness to work extra hours as required
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the commitment to the Health & Safety policy. Keep working area clear and free from hazards.
  • To carry out routine machine maintenance.
