About the role Hours:  15 hours per week usually worked 2 out of 7 days to include bank holidays and weekendsOur retail outlets provide 29% of much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of North Derbyshire. The hospice has 15 retail shops, one furniture warehouse a donation centre, two clearance shops and two coffee shops! We also have an online eBay/Amazon platform and an online furniture store. It’s a big operation!We are looking for a Coffee Shop Assistant to join the team at our coffee shop based in Clowne.This job role is hard work, enormous fun, hugely satisfying and very fascinating. If you think that you would like to be a part of our charity, then please apply.The main responsibilities include:To assist the Manager in the running of the coffee shop and to provide cover when necessary.Ensure the highest standards of customer care are adhered to at all times.Ensure that volunteers adhere to food/drink standards and preparation guidelines.Create a positive customer experience.Ensuring daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard.Responsible for the recording, safeguarding and banking of cash receipts.Accept and supervise deliveries, including the checking of delivery notes versus products received.Oversee volunteers and staff members including maintaining, motivating and supporting them. To resolve any problems or queries they may have.To be responsible to the Coffee Shop Manager for Health and Safety matters.To get full details on what the role includes please read the attached Job Description, call the recruiting manager for an informal chat and come and visit us.About you:You will be an integral member of the Clowne Coffee Shop team, serving customers, preparing food and drinks and replenishing the sales floor. You will ensure that the coffee shop is safe, clean and well presented, making sure our customers have a great experience.Skills and experience required: Prepare and deliver high standards of food and drink preparation.To achieve and maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness throughout the shop premises.Awareness of food hygiene and food allergens.Excellent communication skills, able to relate to and influence all levels of staff, volunteers and customers.About Ashgate: Ashgate Hospice is a registered charity that provides compassionate, specialist palliative and end of life care, free of charge, to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire.
