Job Description

Our client, a leader in the IT space are looking to add a commercial contracts officer to their team. This will mainly be focused on customer facing contracts and will be a mix of reviewing and drafting commercial contracts alongside some contract management.

The role:

  • Identify the risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements; ensure these are clearly understood and that the business fully appreciates any potential impact.
  • Reviewing, drafting, updating and maintaining contract documents
  • Monitoring and reporting performance and compliance against contractual obligations including commercial performance, financial management and contract management
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction
  • Working with the contract delivery teams to ensure that the management of change request process and change implementation is carried out in line with the contracts.
  • Reporting on progress of change requests and projects
  • Reviewing contract performance, assessing commercial risks and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to manage the risk
  • Preventing and resolving contractual disputes
  • Assuring adherence to Group Commercial Policy
  • Supporting the client engagement teams in all commercial aspects, post contract signature, to achieve the orders, profit and cash budget and overall management of the Client relationship.
  • Support the delivery streams who are responsible for the delivery of projects and provide clear direction working with the client engagement team.


The person:

  • Experience of working with commercial contracts.
  • Experience of working closely with finance, operations and technical specialists.
  • Sector experience is not essential.
  • A law degree or equivalent would be an advantage.
