Commercial Direct Pricing AnalystHybridAn opportunity to join us as a Pricing Analyst within our Commercial Direct Pricing & Underwriting team, which will cover the full remit of a pricing role including optimisation, trading, retail and risk pricing, pricing governance and data science. About Us:At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. With ambitious plans for large-scale transformation, we’re going to see a refreshed strategy to drive value for our customers, colleagues and shareholders.What you’ll be doingAs a Pricing Analyst you’ll join the wider Pricing & Underwriting team, pro-actively planning and managing your own tasks to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of projects, and engaging in technical discussions with both external suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure current and future business needs are met.Suggesting recommendations to improve DLG’s pricing performance and longer-term pricing capability, whilst maintaining underwriting disciplineProviding analytical support and insight to inform business decisions and strategy, with a responsibility for ensuring robustness of outputAssisting with the development of pricing models and ensure their appropriate use and application. Monitor the effectiveness of models on an ongoing basis to ensure they are fit for purpose and suggest areas of developmentAnalysing trading performance and monitor controls, including producing & analysing tactical MI, and develop recommendations to support the trading objectives. Identify gaps in existing MI and develop improvementsPlanning, managing and delivering specific tasks and projects in a pro-active, timely and accurate manner, providing insights, impacts and recommendationsInteracting effectively with peers in other areas of DLG to improve knowledge share and understand impacts of your work across the wider business. Ensure learnings are effectively communicated across the teamIdentifying opportunities for improvements to enable tasks to be performed in a more efficient manner. Challenge current processes appropriately with suggestions as to how these can be refinedDeveloping knowledge of pricing and underwriting systems and processes; develop your business, market knowledge and awareness of relevant industry issues which impact your area & incorporate in the work that you doDeveloping yourself in order to maximise your personal contribution to the team and identify opportunities to gain additional skills, including through secondments and/or rotationsIdentifying, owning and managing the risks involved in running our business appropriately to this role, in line with the company risk framework.
