Commercial Finance Analyst (up to £35,000)

About the role

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play an important role in developing and managing the financial reporting for the advertising department, reporting directly to the Director of Revenue Operations. This role will work closely with senior stakeholders across the advertising business, and the finance team to drive the focus on profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment – gaining valuable experience in financial reporting and analysis in the media industry.  

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will;

  • Supports high-level budgeting and annual forecasting activities for the advertising team, ensuring financial stability and strategic planning.
  • Prepares quarterly finance presentations to visualize actual results against budgets and forecasts, aiding decision-making for the advertising floor.
  • Manages Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts for the department, overseeing financial performance and reporting back on cost efficiency.
  • Manage invoicing and reconciliation of payments for key advertising partners and technologies we work with.
  • Conducts monthly brand reconciliations with Management Accountants and Sales Managers, promoting financial transparency and accuracy.
  • Develop and manage floor-wide commissions structure, ensuring fair and accurate compensation for the sales team.
  • Establishes and manages a Rolling Aged Debt Ledger, optimising cash flow management for campaigns the department has sold.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the media industry
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
  • Knowledge of financial software and ERP systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
