Job Overview: This specialist will work closely with our Finance Director to lead the development and implementation of the commercial and operations strategy to ensure planned level of commercial return & gross profit improvements through MI, Pf, rate card and Utilisation improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of pricing strategies for services, using market benchmarks to ensure profitability.
  • Create pricing models for Sales, Tendering & Engineering teams.
  • Provide analysis and support to demonstrate the effectiveness of pricing strategies.
  • Review new client and supplier contracts to minimise financial and commercial risks.
  • Assist in bid development through risk analysis and cost forecasting.
  • Oversee negotiation and sign-off of high-value contracts to manage commercial and contractual risk.
  • Evaluate and approve tenders as a member of the Tender Board.
  • Lead resource planning to align with short and mid-term forecasts.
  • Ensure project delivery is in line with expectations.
  • Support the development of business plans and challenge senior leaders to deliver growth.
  • Maximize operational effectiveness and compliance with all systems.
  • Conduct regular reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and support the achievement of budget targets.
  • Develop a management information strategy and review month-end reporting for accuracy and insight.
  • Additionally, perform any adhoc activities and projects directed by the CFO.

We are looking for:

  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Relevant education background and certification, qualified accountant is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in finance and accounting systems, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Thorough understanding of financial control processes and compliance
  • Ability to interpret and analyse multiple data sources to provide meaningful insights and recommendations
