We are hiring a Commercial Finance Manager to join our team (based in our Farringdon office two days a week)! This is a commercial role within a high growth business, with the opportunity to materially and sustainably improve value and performance. The role will provide commercial and financial support to drive profitable growth through sales, through working closely with the Sales and Technical teams, ensuring that deals are consistently and appropriately priced, analysing performance and providing insight to drive improvements..

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Sales team with project pricing, deal structuring, and in-life commercial queries, working to maximise profitability whilst doing the right thing for our customers
  • Deliver robust pricing models to support bids / customer proposals, collaborating across the business to scope project requirements, technical solution, cost inputs and risks
  • Translate complex technical solutions into financial models / business cases, identifying and understanding cost drivers, and providing recommendations on how to optimise solutions and improve competitiveness
  • Produce finance outputs / key metrics to support governance
  • Produce lessons learnt analysis on projects, including areas for commercial / financial improvements and insight on project performance
  • Present analysis, insight and recommendations at relevant leadership team forums
  • Educate colleagues on key parameters of an acceptable commercial deal and contribute to improving commercial and financial awareness across the business
  • Support on ad hoc business requirements providing commercial and financial analytical support

Education and qualifications

  • University degree
  • Financial or Accounting professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)

Experience

  • Highly commercial, analytical and numerate
  • Expert Excel skills and financial modelling experience
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail, alongside an appreciation for the big picture
  • Steadiness under pressure and ability to manage within tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, manage expectations and respond flexibly to changing circumstances
  • Demonstrable track record of collaboration and effective working within a team
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, and experience building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in a variety of roles
  • Self-motivated with minimal need for direction or supervision
