Liability Underwriter (Roofers & Scaffolders) Home-Based Leading MGA to circa £60K (Negotiable) plus attractive bonus and benefits Whilst these Underwriters benefit from a robust infrastructure, market-leading systems and processes, they do enjoy retaining the autonomy of a ‘hands on’ Underwriter, taking each risk on its own merit within the binder parameters laid down by insurer partners. The business is enjoying substantial growth, and rolling out new products, propositions and distribution channels as a result. As such, this is a really exciting time for Underwriters to join the company, particularly as along with its growth comes great career-development opportunities. Your primary focus will be to write Liability risks within the Construction sector (specifically for Roofers & Scaffolders). Using your technical expertise, you will typically focus on writing new and renewal Employer’s & Public Liability risks with premiums averaging around £5,000. This is a remote-based role with a high degree of flexibility, however you will be required to attend a regional office occasionally to meet colleagues. For those who live closer to a regional office, you will, of course, be welcome to attend the office more regularly, if desired. It is essential that you have experience of underwriting business for Roofers & Scaffolders, together with a good understanding of both EL & PL insurance. Just as importantly, you’ll display a flexible, ‘hands on’ approach to underwriting, whilst generating good profit and healthy loss ratios across your account. You must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), together with the ability to trade with brokers on individual cases and overall accounts.
