Job summaryThe Legal & Language Services team are recruiting to find a Category Lead. This is a senior role within the team, with significant opportunity to shape and deliver commercial solutions for the Legal & Language Services category and its customers.Role overviewAs Commercial Lead you will work with the Senior Category Lead to create, implement and further develop Supply Market Strategies and Opportunities Levers for the Legal Services and Language Services markets, through the development of sourcing strategies and management of procurements, to drive value and innovation for our customers.�This is a great opportunity to work in a senior and high-profile commercial role at the heart of government, as part of a high performing, flexible and collaborative team. We have helped our customers spend more than �34 billion through the agreements we create and enjoy more than � billion in commercial benefits annually through our agreements.Category management sits at the heart of CCS. We use our deep knowledge and expertise of public sector suppliers, to create market and category strategies. These strategies are used within CCS to create market leading commercial agreements that help shape how common goods and services are bought across the public sector. Our skills are also used in carrying out commercial policy, development of new products and services and supplier relationship management.Job descriptionThe Legal & Language Services sub-category sits within the Professional Services Master Category of the Corporate Category Group. It provides commercial solutions for use across the public sector in both the Legal and Language Services markets.�This sub-category has a number of strategic partnerships within the Central Government, with whom we work closely to influence and drive value. Of these, our relationship with the Government Legal Department is paramount to our success and must be closely maintained and leveraged.The team are working to support the government and the wider public sector with nationally important issues including high profile Public Inquiries and Free Trade Agreements, and have previously played an instrumental role in issues including the Ukraine conflict, COVID, EU Transition and Afghanistan Repatriation.Collectively, the team work on:The development and implementation of supply market strategies.Senior stakeholder management across government and the wider public sector.Supplier relationship management.Strategic procurements.Customer call off contracts and customer support.Person specificationWork with the Senior Category Lead and rest of the team to:Utilise your awareness and understanding of commercial marketplaces and strategic category management to create, implement and further develop best in class Supply Market Strategies and Opportunities Levers for the Legal Services and Language Services markets.Develop sourcing strategies and lead on strategic procurements that drive value and innovation for our customer.Support the management of our most important strategic relationships.�Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with customers (including Senior Government Policy owners) and suppliers in order to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the category and the markets.��Influence the buying behaviours of stakeholders and customers.Be the source of expert insight and advice for the public sector, supporting the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and call-off procurements to deliver sustainable, value driven solutions for Central Government and the Wider Public Sector.Work collaboratively to develop propositions for legal and language services that deliver value to our customers and increase our influence and coverage within these market segments.Provide line management, support and personal development to members of staff responsible for managing the commercial agreements and the customer and supplier relationships associated with them.Demonstrate personal presence, energy and drive in inspiring yourself and others to excel.�Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of customer needs and ensure successful delivery of our commercial solutions.Technical skills We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process: Market Insight - A proven track record of developing innovative category and sourcing strategies that demonstrate a clear focus on customer service, innovation and market insightCommercial Focus - Demonstrable in- depth customer, supplier and contract management knowledge that has delivered outstanding value for money and strong commercial outcomes in a complex commercial environmentBuilds Relationships - Builds strong, trusting & productive relationships with internal & external stakeholders, customers, suppliers & partners - there is constant exposure to senior officials, ability to influence & build trust is essentialPolitical Insight - Ability to switch between big picture strategy and operational detail.
