Job Description

The City & Capital Group are currently representing one of the UK's most highly respected and long standing commercial property finance advisory groups who have retained our services in order to appoint an ambitious and confident Commercial Finance Consultant to their growing team, at an exciting time.

Our client has been one of the main players in this arena for the last 50 years and thus have the reputation and pedigree in the market that is driving continued growth.

A major business within the group is their commercial property finance brokerage who work to assist commercial borrowers with access to funds for property development and investment projects. This may include property developers and investors directly, as well as SME and Corporate businesses undertaking property projects that require funding.

Due to our clients reputation and brand in the market, they are receiving huge levels of warm commercial property loan applications every day in a buoyant borrower market. These are very much relevant to the role at hand.

The type of loan you may expect to support in this role would include (but may not be limited to) commercial mortgages, a broad range of standard and specialist BTL, portfolio lending, development finance and bridging finance.

Key to their continued success is their longstanding relationships with major funding partners, lenders and banks across both the specialist and mainstream lending sectors.

These relationships mean that, no matter their requirement in terms of loan size or purpose, you will be assured that you will be able to identify and share suitable loan options to meet the need of each borrower. This whole of market setup allows borrowers to ascertain funds of between £100k - £100m and as a result, repeat business is a very large part of their business model.

As Commercial Finance Consultant you role will be to undertake an initial assessment on new applications to understand the viability for funding. Where it is established that the deal is viable you will then meet with the prospective borrowers with a view to getting in to the detail of the loan, in order to create a loan structure to share with lenders and banks in the industry.

You will then manage applications to completion, which will mean continuing to manage the borrower relationship throughout the loan cycle, whilst engaging with and managing lenders and banks to whom that application has been submitted.

Once the deal has been funded you will then retain the client relationship for their future borrowing requirements to allow you to build a loyal and longstanding customer base to increase revenue performance year on year.

In addition you will be able to work with any existing commercial borrower relationships you have developed in your career to date, as well any borrowers that you may identify and engage with as part of your own business development activity.

Due to the above the ideal individual must have experience of working within the commercial property finance space and must be comfortable when advising clients who may not be as experienced in regards to their options for property loans.

You will be a confident relationship manager and happy to build these with commercial borrowers and funders alike. You will be highly organised to ensure that when working on behalf of multiple clients you can keep those plates spinning in terms of meeting deadlines for requirements and SLA's. You will demonstrate a good attention to detail and are likely to have worked for a bank, lender, fund or commercial broker/advisory during the course of your career.
