Job Description

Are you a commercial property solicitor looking to carve out your career? This leading firm is after a passionate solicitor to join the UK’s largest team of experts in a particularly niche legal area: real estate matters within their Church Law department.

This highly respected specialist team is looking for their newest addition, in the form of a 1-4 PQE solicitor with a vocational interest in religion.

Based just minutes from Blackfriars station at a brand new office, this culture-first firm’s Church Law team was founded upon the principles of providing legal advice to some of the country’s most important religious entities. This team prides themselves on their status in the legal sphere and are on the lookout for a commercial property lawyer to uphold their reputation.

What does this Commercial Property Solicitor job entail?

Your role will focus on serving the aforementioned religious clients on all manner of property-related matters, encompassing both residential and commercial property law. You will work alongside a team of nine experts, some of whom hold several important ecclesiastical appointments, to serve clients within the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church.

You’ll gain newfound knowledge and exposure throughout your career at this people-centric firm, utilising the expertise you’ve gained thus far to research and interpret historical legislation to strategise solutions for the future.

By combining both your vocational and professional interests in serving esteemed religious clients, your position within this leading team will open doors to a lasting and meaningful legal career.

For this Commercial Property Solicitor role, you will ideally:

  • Have 1 to 4 years of post-qualification experience as a property lawyer
  • Have an interest in legal research, as this role requires interpretation of historical law

If you’re interested in this role but are unsure if you’re the right fit, let us know.

This team recognises that this area of the law is uncommon and is prepared to offer extensive training on the rules surrounding the law and the church. However, it is desirable that you have a vocational interest in faith and/or religion due to the nature of the role and its client base.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding reasonable adjustments or accommodations.

This firm takes pride in its inclusivity and encourages contributions to the wider community. These include networks for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, disability, and sociability for work experience students, as well as attendance at employment law clinics and reading schemes at local schools, environmental charity volunteering, and involvement in local business networks.

If you’re looking for a firm that will encourage responsibility and independence while providing the warm, welcoming, and charitable work environment that you crave, get in touch! We'd love to hear from you.
