Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Strategy Assistant Manager to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as VO5, Brylcreem and TIGI based at their prestigious facility in Battersea, London.

This is a full-time temporary role to start ASAP for 6 months, with potential to go permanent, working a 37.5-hour week and is paying up to £46,500 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.

Your Role & Key Responsibilities:

The Commercial Strategy Assistant Manager is critical for the Customer Development function, focused on representing the voice of Customer Development across the organisation, providing key integration touchpoints around commercial planning and governance, as well as supporting the category & channel strategy with its associated pricing and promotional policies for all customers in the UK&I. You’ll have full ownership of the 4P strategy for your brands and support in the delivery across the wider Elida portfolio. With the Customer and Category Development team rapidly growing, this role offers a great opportunity to make an impact and develop within the business.

Your Responsibilities:

Strategy & Vision

Ownership of the 4P strategy for your brands

Proactively monitor changes in the market and with competitors to align the ongoing strategy with new demands from customers

Work closely with the innovation team to input customer and channel needs into the innovation funnel, and ensure this is brought to life

Support activity planning following up on the key activities/key customer issues with sales team

Support key accounts to ensure customer launch plans are optimal and shapes distribution targets

Operational

Monitor the promo strategy & guidelines for each brand & communicate it to Customer Development teams

Support the Joint Business Planning process with the sales team

Working with finance & Sales controllers to proactively manage the forecast with the sales team including performance reporting & under/over delivery management

Analysis of sales data to determine ROI key learnings

Analysis of trade spend to monitor investment vs forecast and to proactively look for opportunities to optimise

Skills and Experience

Must haves:

At least 2 years of working experience in data insights, reporting, customer or commercial roles

Strategy and commercial planning experience

Advanced ability with MS excel

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Demonstrated self-starter

A passion for the Beauty & Personal Care World

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with the UK & I retail marketplace

Experience working in a start up / small business environment

Experience in Beauty & Personal Care Industry / working with BPC brands
