400kv Substation Commissioning Engineer - Dundee, Scotland

Rate: £Excellent Day Rate
Duration: 4 Month Contract + Potential Extensions

Responsibilities:
- Lead the commissioning activities for transformers, feeder protection, and quad boosters within 400kV substations.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of protection relays, transformers, quad boosters, and associated control systems.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of commissioning engineers, ensuring all activities meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning phase, working closely with engineering teams and contractors.
- Prepare detailed commissioning documentation, including test reports, procedures, and commissioning records.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to project timelines.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in commissioning protection and control systems in high-voltage substation projects, with a focus on 400kV systems.
- Strong proficiency in commissioning transformers, feeder protection systems, and quad boosters.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- SSEN CAT 1-3 authorisations preferable.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
