Job Description

Reports to Senior Communications Manager

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, bright and alternative communications professional to join our growing team to support the delivery of our Group wide communications strategy and agenda including internal and external communications and social media activities.

Guided by our Senior Communications Manager, you’ll work alongside the wider Communications team and have great exposure to all communications disciplines to help further your own development and career path. In the work you do, you’ll be an ambassador for the team and act as an Aztec Group brand guardian.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the team and business by managing requests coming in to the team
  • Proactively plan the use of our internal channels so the team is aware of upcoming activities and we’re always putting our audience front and centre of planning
  • Support the delivery of key internal communication messaging and campaigns across the Group - including researching, writing, proofing and posting of content across a variety of channels
  • Guided by our team of senior managers, take a proactive approach to acting as a communications business partner on key business projects
  • Actively research and keep our internal and external channel metrics up to date - helping the team with strategic planning, monitoring and impact reporting of our communications activities.
  • Support with the creation and management of assets and tools and other communications collateral
  • Support with web uploads and housekeeping of News and People pages on Aztec Group website
  • Draft and post content to social media
  • Track the analytics and performance of social media, paid social campaigns and press coverage.
  • Identify and share the top performing stories/posts across each external channel.
  • Support with ideas for the content calendar and source stories for social media.
  • Support with press release drafting, external communications projects, internal and external events and other duties on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Great attention to detail
  • An inquisitive mind and eagerness to learn and continuously improve
  • 'Tech-savvy’; proficient Microsoft suite of tech: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel with a good understanding of social media and Sharepoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Persuading and influencing stakeholders are key parts of communications work and close working relationships between our colleagues and clients are at the heart of what we do.
  • A ‘can do’ attitude. We will provide the training for relevant technical knowledge and platforms. We will also happily support exploring relevant professional qualifications to enhance your personal development.

Nice to have, but not essential skills:

  • Communications or PR qualifications
  • Experience in mail distribution systems i.e. Poppulo, Mailchimp
